Wow, been a while since I posted on this website. I will definitely be making more use of it this year.
First off, Happy New Year! I hope that everyone has a great 2026!
2025 was a busy year for me and 2026 is bound to be busier, I will finally be getting married in the summertime and that is fast approaching. So crazy to think that its almost been 2 years since I proposed now and finally the date is closing in. It’s a lot to think about but very exciting and I can’t wait for it!
Next up, some updates on my projects. Anyone following me on my bluesky knows that I have been really hard at work in GameMaker this past year learning a bunch of stuff. I have had to redo things a lot, and redo them again, and redo them againĀ but things are finally landing in a place where I am seeing the fruits of that labour. This year can be more about actually making games!
For the time being, Volt as a game is taking a backseat. The reason for that is that there are a lot of systems and elements from RPGs I’d like to include in that game, such as quests and more NPC interactions and such. My entire goal is how can I make something fast, and fun, that also evokes the same feelings I get when I play Mega Man Legends – just in a 2D package.
So for that I decided to concept out a new project, that will be a small-scale Deltarune-like RPG called Mimic Story. If it grows beyond its scope thats fine by me too, but the concept and idea is currently small. The reason for this project was to learn how to implement more RPG elements into GameMaker and iron out the kinks in any system I make with a proper game. This year I hope to be able to deliver on this.
I also have made some assets for a mario clone game that is a reward for a subathon that Lyn held for our wedding, which I can hopefully get to very soon as I wrap up some of the backend stuff on this new framework I’ve been building in gamemaker. Its getting very close!
Anyway, 2026 is going to be a really good year for me I feel it. I hope to have plenty of art, gaming, and musical creations to show off. I will have to dedicate some time to also refreshing this website a tad to include more information on my projects as it becomes available, and to also refresh the visual design a tad. All in good time.
Thanks for all the support over 2025 and into the future!
